The little paradise of Hästholmen is beautifully located by the Lake Vättern with a view out over Omberg and Ellen Keys Strand. There is a small marina, restaurant and ice cream café here, and next to 31: an's ice cream and kitchen is the accommodation owned by the owner (the white house you see in the outside pictures). The house has two floors, kitchen, bedroom and toilet and shower downstairs and upstairs there is a living room with bunk bed and sofa bed and a small dining room where you can see Lake Vättern over the roof. Outside the house, there is garden furniture with a barbecue for the guest, of course the guest can sit at the ice cream café's outdoor seating as well. The owner admits that he treats the family to ice cream on one occasion, he has received several SM medals for the best ice cream. If you want to fish, the guest brings a rod, it is free to fish from land in Vättern, if you are out on the lake with a boat, a fishing license is required. From the fourth Friday in July to the first weekend in September, there is free fishing for crayfish in Lake Vättern during the weekends Friday - Sunday at marked areas. Hästholmen is really close to everything, for example Omberg with its beautiful nature and hiking trails. In the cozy town of Vadstena with its castle and streets with cafes and outdoor seating, there is also Vätterviksbadet. Fågelsjön Tåkern, considered one of Northern Europe's best. Vättern, which is Sweden's second largest lake, can be bathed in from i.a. Wadstones. The house is beautifully located with Östergötland's largest mountain Omberg in the background, with nice hiking trails, and with a nice view of the Östgötaslätten at the top of the mountain. Around with short distances there are many attractions, Rök's church is only a few kilometers away, where there is a finely preserved rune stone, about 2 miles from the house is the bird lake Tåkern, and to Vadstena on the shore of Vättern and with its castle from the 16th century, about 2, 5 miles. At Hästholmen, about 1 mile away, you can swim or walk by the harbor, look across the lake to Ellen Keys Strand, and finish by buying good ice cream.
