Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: It's super remote, but with a summer camp feeling due to lots of other cabins and campervans in the vicinity. So it felt very safe. The scenery is beautiful, and it's very peaceful and quiet. There's one little cafe that only seemed to open for lunch, so bring food etc with you. The cabin was very clean, and the living area was very comfortable with a giant sofa, and really good cooking facilities. The kitchen was very well stocked. Having a sauna was brilliant, though I guess that's standard in Finland, but we were very impressed. The staff were happy to deal with any requests we had. There was good Wi-Fi, though the notes said there wasn't any so that was a nice surprise.

Negative: Upstairs was insanely hot (July) - we requested a fan after the first night, which was no problem, but even with the fan, it was far too hot and 2 of our group ended up on the sofa downstairs. There are no fly screens on the windows, so we couldn't leave the windows open for air or we'd have been eaten alive. There was air con downstairs, which worked great, but it didn't extend to upstairs. To be fair, it was during an unusual heatwave in Finland, so may not be like this all the time. The single beds upstairs are extremely narrow - not sure if this is a Finnish thing, but it was unnerving. Upstairs had a room with 3 single beds which you had to walk through to get to the other room with 2 single beds - an odd setup. There's only 1 shower and 1 toilet, for a 7-bed cabin (there were 6 of us), so you need to plan your timings if you're all getting ready at the same time. The oven was tricky to use, we couldn't quite figure it out and couldn't find a brand name to google it, so a user manual would be handy.

Summary: Beautiful, remote and quiet location. Great living area, basic sleeping area. Sauna was great.
