4 Bedroom Villa in Gaustad, Oslo

Cozy family home for a relaxing week in Oslo
Architecture, tranquility, and nature—with excellent Metro access. Ideal for families and extended stays.
Welcome
This unique architect-designed home, built in 1945, is located on a very quiet cul-de-sac in the green western part of Oslo. The street has no through traffic—usually, no more than one car passes by each day. Children often play quietly and safely on the street, making the neighborhood particularly family-friendly and relaxed.
The house is ideal for families who want to experience Oslo not as a hectic city trip, but as a mindful, well-structured week-long stay—with time for nature, culture, and family life together.
The building has been carefully renovated and combines original postwar architecture—solid brick walls, exposed wiring, and authentic materials—with modern Scandinavian functionality, warmth, and clarity.
Garden & Outdoor Area
The small, beautifully landscaped private garden with a pergola, grapevines, and a lounge area is a quiet, secluded oasis. It’s hidden from view and ideal for children to play, as well as for adults to read, relax, or enjoy meals together outdoors. Especially in the summer, the garden becomes a second living space.
Location – peaceful living, quick access to the city
The metro is about a 5-minute walk away and takes you directly to the city center in about 7 minutes. This allows you to perfectly combine nature, tranquility, and city life—all without a car.
Within walking distance you’ll find:
• a traditional bakery (about 7 minutes)
• supermarkets (about 7–10 minutes)
• Forest and river trails right behind the house
Quiet neighborhood & play areas
The neighborhood is characterized by tranquility, openness, and safety.
Two kindergartens with beautiful outdoor areas are just a 5-minute walk away. In the afternoons and on weekends, when the kindergartens are closed, these areas are frequently used as play spaces by families from the neighborhood.
This combination of a traffic-calmed street, short distances, and informal play areas is particularly appreciated by families.
Length of Stay & Weekly Routine
The house is particularly well-suited for stays of one week (7 nights).
Many families find this length of stay ideal: less packing, fewer location changes, a clear daily routine for children, and more time to settle in and relax.
Even with changeable weather, Oslo offers plenty of indoor activities, so a week-long stay can be relaxing.
