Nice holiday home privately located outside Ryd 500 m from Drevsjön in Tingsryd municipality. The cottage has a covered terrace for rainy days. The upper floor is not furnished.
You have your own jetty with a rowing boat of 12 feet by Drevsjön which is a fishing lake. The nearest bathing place with a sandy beach is by the lake Mien. It is called Laxasand and is located 6 km outside Grönteboda. Take a walk out on Långe Nabbe here. At Mien there is another nice bathing place in Midingsbråte, which is located at the southern end of the lake. In Ryd you also have Norraryd's bathing area as well as the nearest shopping opportunity and a nice hardware store that sells fishing equipment etc.
Åsnens National Park is a nice excursion destination if you are interested in nature, hiking and bird watching. At Getnö farm there are many activities and nice trails if you want to hike. Urshult is known for its apple fields and there are many local markets and second-hand shops here. Drive out on Sirkön, where it is very beautiful.
In Tingsryd you have a good lunch at restaurant Mårdlycke with a view of the lake Tiken. Here at Tingsryd Resort, which is a family campsite, there is also a tennis court and mini golf.
Starting in Tingsryd a family business that started in 1944 is worth a visit. Try their famous shrimp sandwich. If you want to drive down to the sea, it is not far to Karlshamn. Here you eat and enjoy the food and Vägga fishing harbor's picturesque marina directly by the pier.
