Kalix Hus is a big, family-friendly house, wonderfully situated by the sea. It faces south, has beautiful views and its own pier. Rental includes the separate guest house and this is a perfect spot for 2 families planning a holiday together. Originally built in 1750 in Kalix, in the north of Sweden, the main house was rebuilt on Ljusterö 15 years ago, with all modern comforts - the best of old and new. The deck is a fabulous suntrap. A large garden sweeps down in front of the house and there is a forest behind. An old-fashioned fence encloses the whole property, useful when there are small children and dogs. Downstairs in the main house there are two large entertaining rooms, an open fireplace and a well-equipped kitchen and a lavatory. Upstairs there is a large main bedroom, a big bathroom with a shower and washing machine, an open area and a huge bedroom which children love to pile into and share! The little house sleeps 4 in two rooms and has its own bathroom and kitchen.
The owners of Kalix Hus are English. When they lived in Stockholm they visited the house most weekends, always finding it painful to leave on a Sunday evening. Now they live back in the UK, they miss it terribly and visit whenever possible, which sadly isn't often. It is a special place, and everyone who visits has a wonderful time. We hope you do too.
