In the immediate area within a few minutes walking distance you reach Gullmarsfjorden which is Sweden's largest fjord here you will also meet Gårvik's fantastic child-friendly sandystripe surrounded by picnic-friendly grassy areas, here are also great opportunities for fishing or launching a kayak for your own exploration of all the fjord's bays and beaches. In the area there is also a viewpoint with wide views of the fjord and surrounding landscape, a nice place to enjoy the sun rising or setting. Through Munkedal flows the Örekil River, which is a popular river for salmon fishing, many sport fishing enthusiasts have tried their luck over the years. In the immediate area is Torreby golf course, which is Bohuslän's oldest golf course, the course is located in a castle environment with English-inspired castle park.
