During spring and summer nights when the midnight sun shines, you will want to sit up all night to absorb this special experience. In wintertime, the area is ideal for watching Northern Lights, dancing across the polar sky in all its colourful glory. It also has perfect hiking conditions both summer and winter, and you can go skiing in the mountains. You can fish in the fjord with fishing rods from land. There are several fishing lakes in the area, like Jægervatnet, that has salmon, trout and arctic char. A fishing licence is mandatory for lakes and rivers.
