It is a house of relatively simple standard; the wooden walls and other details have been preserved since the construction in the 19th century. There is good fishing on the fjord shore. Otherwise you can fish in the salmon river Granvinselva (5 km away) or in trout lakes; fishing license can be bought at the gas station in the center of Granvin (6 km); there are also shopping facilities and a restaurant. The region offers many marked hiking trails, among others to Voss. Skiing is possible in Haugeåsen (10 minutes by car), or at the larger ski center Voss (35 minutes by car). Day trips along the National Tourist Route of Hardanger are recommended, passing, among others, the rocky outcrop Trolltunga, the amusement park Mikkelsparken and the National Park Folgefonna. Hardangervidda National Park can be reached after a 40-minute drive and the city of Bergen after an hour and a half.
