50 km west of Joensuu, Lake Juojärvi (237, 25 km²) 100 m, own shore, shallow sand bottom, own boat, jetty. Round log cottage 1986, bedroom with double bed, kitchen-living room with convertible sofa and bunk bed, changing room, washing room, sauna (wood heated stove) and small terrace. Round log cottage by the clear-watered Lake Juojärvi in Outokumpu. Shore faces south. Lawn swing and a small pier by the shore. Field between the cottage and the lake. Good facilities for grilling (concrete grill and griddle pan). The cottage is well equipped and there is a lot of room in the cupboards. Baby cot can be arranged when needed.
On the owner's farm there's an outbuilding with various games, toys, dollhouse etc (outbuilding is in shared use). Canoe and bicycles can be rented.
Common volleyball field near-by (shared with the neighbouring cottage) freely available.
There's a storehouse museum, a small herbgarden, juice for sale and a path going around the farm. The owner has direct sales from his berry farm (strawberries, raspberries, currants, bush blueberries, buckthorns, early potatoes).
It is possible to have ice fishing equipment and kicksledge from the owner.
Lake Juojärvi is a large and fishy lake and recreational fishing is one of the popular hobbies. The area of Lake Juojärvi is about 219 km² and the maximum depth is 44 meters. Fish species e.g. perch, pike, pike-perch, bream, vendace, whitefish and salmon.
Karvio rapids 40 km (possibilities for fishing). Koli National park and ski-centre 90 km, Mustavaara (Joensuu) and Pääskyvuori (Heinävesi) about 70 km. Illuminated 2 km long skiing track 1,5 km from the cottage, snowmobile route 3 km.
Reservations start at 16.00 and end at 12.00 (also in weekend bookings).
