Pykälä – a log cottage village, 18 km north from Kuhmo, in the middle of wilderness in the area of Kainuu.
Main house: Honkapirtti, 127 m² (two floors). Well equipment kitchen, living room with fireplace, dining table for 8 persons. One room with sofa bed for 1-2 persons downstairs. Upstairs a room with double bed for 2 persons plus an open balcony with sofabed for 1-2 persons. WC, shower, sauna (electric heating). Terrace. Honkapirtti heating options: wooden fireplace, floor heating as well as ceiling heating. 2 x TV (42” and 55”), WiFi internet access, NETFLIX, radio, stereo, Canal Digital. Mechanical supply and exhaust air ventilation. Children's safety gates on top and bottom of the stairs (no other child proofing or facilities).
Guest house 1: Wanhapirtti, 90 m² (one floor). Wide livingroom, fireplace, kitchen. One bedroom with double bed and one separate bed. Shower/WC. Heating: wood + electric heater (thermostat). Equipments: hot water, electric lighting, fridge, 2 x electric oven, coffee machine, microwave, TV (46 "), radio, WiFi internet access, NETFLIX.
Guest house 2-3: Karelian log cabins, accommodation facilities on the second floor (steep stairs).
Cabin 1: 20 m², mini kitchen, bunk bed for 4 persons, sofa bed for 1-2 persons.
Cabin 2: 11 m² mini kitchen, balcony with place for 1-2 persons' beds (steep ladder stairs up to the balcony).
Equipments for both cabins: electric lighting and ceiling heating, hot water, electric oven, fridge, coffee machine, microwave, WiFi internet access (no TVs). A shared, heated WC downstairs, as well as a separate storeroom ´Koirala´ (can be used as a scullery when e.g. cooking outdoors).
You are also welcome to use the atmospheric turf-roof log SAUNA (electric stove), suitable for up to 5-6 persons. The sauna has floor heating, stove control panel located in dressing room. You can go for a swim straight from the sauna to a pond with sandy bottom right next to the sauna (size 10 x 5 m, 1,2 m deep).
There is a grill house for preparing delicious meals even on a rainy day. The grill house has electric lighting, a mini fridge, and a kitchen sink. There is a wooden dining table and chairs on the porch. Wooden smoking oven for smoking fish or meat. There is also an ecological outdoor toilet in the yard, as well as wooden storage with outdoor family games, car heating place (x 5 plugs for heating cable).
Pets are allowed in all the cabins. There is a dog house and kennel + a separate dog house for 2 dogs in the yard. Kuhmo 18 km, Vuokatti ski center, spa / golf 78 km, Ukkohalla ski center 105 km, Hiidenportti nationalpark 58 km, Nurmes 96 km. Pykälä provides the activity, but also peace, quiet and enjoyment in the midst of nature. Pykälä is suitable for families, meetings and small family celebrations. If you are planning to organize small-scale / peaceful celebrations, please mention that for your booking.
Pykälä is WILDERNESS CABIN: Cabin is not preheated before customer's arrival. Temperature is 10-15 °C, set the normal (22 °C) living temperature when you arrive, there is specific instruction about heating. NOTE: Due to long distances maintenance can not check the cabin after all customers. If the destination is not cleaned or there are deficiencies, please contact the caretaker immediately on arrival.
Check in at 16, and check out at 12, also in every weekends bookings. If cleaning has not made by customers, owner will sent the extra cleaning invoice end of stay. It is also possible to order final cleaning service in advance.
