Welcome to Öckerö in Gothenburg's northern archipelago! The car ferry that leaves from the Lilla Varholmen ferry terminal takes you back and forth every twenty minutes. In the middle of the island in a splendid garden with a lovely lawn, this cozy cottage is located just below the island's stately church. The cottage welcomes you with a hall and newly built (2017) bathroom with WC and shower. A small staircase with three steps leads up to the family room, which is combined with an open kitchen. Here there is a sofa bed and a single bed. Above the hall is a wall ladder that leads up to the loft. Young people usually like to sleep up here (fresh air from windows with mosquito nets is available here). Small children, older adults or people who consider themselves less mobile should not choose to sleep in the loft. Then the pleasant new sofa bed in the living room is recommended instead. Feel free to make an excursion to Hönö Klåva. Both leisure boats and larger fishing boats will arrive at the docks here daily. It is buzzing with life with cozy shops, restaurants, fantastic sea views and a very nice seafood shop. Bathing from cliffs, jetty, sandy beach and bathing stairs are available all over the island. Directly adjacent to the cottage is a lovely public lawn with great opportunities for soccer or the old family game “kubb”. Here there is a playground for the younger ones. The smaller surrounding islands can easily be reached free of charge by ferry. If you have your own bicycles, it is fine to take them on the ferry. Cycling on the island is preferable as you get to experience small unexpected special places. Gothenburg with the well-known amusement park Liseberg, Universeum and Paddanbåtarna (the toad boats) is only 25 km away. The harbor café with outdoor seating right by the boat quay is in Öckerö Hamn, where the nearest convenience store is also located. Greater ICA is straight ahead from the first roundabout where you turned right after you got off the ferry. Welcome to a small but really cozy summer cottage that breathes calmness, summer breeze and leisure!
